Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Joins His Colleagues To Attend NNPC Stakeholder Engagement In Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael joined his colleagues from Kogi State to attend NNPC Stakeholder Engagement with the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) with the aim to ensure sanity in downstream sector and to accelerate grassroots development and capacity building in the country.
The meeting was held at Continental Hotel, Zone 4, Abuja where ALGON Kogi State Chapter pledged to work with NNPC stakeholders to enhance effective administration of the petroleum sectors.
Speaking during the meeting the Kogi State ALGON Chairman, Hon Tosin Olokun, commended the NNPC for its unrelenting efforts to bring sanity into the downstream sector of the oil industry.
Zacchaeus expressed delight at the achievements of the Corporation under the leadership of Mallam Kyari, especially in the area of stakeholder engagement.
“This singular action of meeting with us defines you as a leader with limitless leadership humility and untiring capacity for encouraging the concept of stakeholder management and eagerness to carry us along in every public policy engagements of the NNPC concerning the oil and gas value chain,” he stated.
Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael noted that in collaboration with NNPC and other stakeholders, Nigerians are poised to benefit from the Gas Expansion Programme through autogas conversion technology, human capital development, gas infrastructure, and other derivatives.
“It has become necessary to engage with Local Government Areas to support the boosting of a one-megawatt power initiative across the 774 LGAs. We acknowledge the need to address the power gap cost-effectively and efficiently.
“This collaborative aspect of the initiative, involving ALGON and experienced stakeholders to assist in moving the project forward, will yield a positive result,” Zacchaeus said.
He urged the Nigerian public to rise to the challenges, assuring that ALGON will prioritize the agenda, study it, develop needs assessments in line with the heterogeneous settings of LGAs, and build capacity through community engagement.
“The collaborative efforts of the Ministry, ALGON and other stakeholders are set to establish business incubation centres for skilled manpower needs, delivering at the local government level, with all terms of reference and timelines aimed at presenting opportunities that will impact the project,” he said.
